Who are we?
Mallzee is the UK’s leading multi-retailer fashion shopping app, and the original ‘Tinder for Fashion’. The app helps people find, compare, save and buy clothes quickly and easily from hundreds of high street retailers. We’ve now been downloaded over 1.5 million times and see tens of millions product interactions every month.
Based on this success and utilising the unique data the apps generate, in 2017 we launched a series of B2B insight products; under the name of Mallzee Insights. The focus of this offering is to help brands and retailers make better decisions around stock and in turn improve their gross margins. The main offering in this suite is Product Future, which allows companies to test pre-release products in the development cycle with consumers before they commit to costly stock orders. Think of it as A/B testing for clothes. This offering is now used by some of the biggest names in retail and many of the fastest growing emerging brands.
Founded in Edinburgh in 2013 Mallzee has, to date, raised in excess of £5m in investment and grown to a team of 26 based at our city centre offices. We’ve picked up a range of awards from leading tech publications, been featured in press articles around the world and seen Business Insider select us as one of the hottest startups in Scotland.
Our unique position as a B2C2B business means we play a crucial role in retail and are helping tackle some of the biggest problems the industry faces at a time of huge change.
What’s our vision?
Our vision is two-fold; our award winning personalised shopping app is already recognised as market leading and we continue to iterate on this to constantly deliver the best user experience. Alongside this we work with industry leading retailers to help them improve their marketing, merchandising and buying functions using the vast volume of real time, real consumer product opinions generated every month.
In the coming years, Mallzee aims to change the apparel industry for the better by moving brands and retailers past an over-reliance on gut feel decision making by putting authentic consumer product opinion at the very heart of the decision-making processes.
